About our Core Facility

The DNA Sequencing and Genomics Core Facility is part of the Health Science Center at the University of Utah.

We provide DNA Sequencing, Genotyping and Genomics services to the University of Utah research community and off-campus researchers.

We employ the latest technologies to generate high quality data with a fast turnover and competitive prices. We also strive to provide as much personal attention as possible to our many users.

In support of DNA Sequencing activities we utilize state-of-the-art DNA sequencers and lab robotics. Standard DNA sequencing services have a turn around time of 24 hr. Sample information can be submitted on line and sequencing data files are also available on line for download using a simple and secure interface.

In support of Genotyping research activities, the facility provides full-service to custom projects, from PCR set-up through data analysis, for genome-wide scans, fine mapping, allelic imbalance (LOH), microsatellite instability, and SNP genotyping for genetic studies. The facility also offers real-time quantitative PCR for Genomics. Researchers are given access to instrumentation and provided with training and software.
