Taqman SNP Assays

Taqman Assays are the best option for SNP Genotyping projects that involve a few number of SNPs and a large number of samples. The assays are robust, reliable and very easy to prep and can be done in 384-well plate format. The reaction can be run on a regular thermocycler, but a Real-Time PCR detection instrument is necessary to scan the results and generate the genotypes. At the Core we host two ABI 7900HT Real-Time dections instruments that can perform cycling and scanning or just the scanning of SNP Taqman assays on 96-well or 384-well plates.

We offer full Taqman SNP genotyping services, where customers provide us with purified genomic DNA, we will perform all the necessary lab work, analyze the results and provide the customers with the genoty calls in a spreadsheet format.

Alternatively, customers my set up and perform the taqman reactions and schedule one of our 7900s to scan the plates.

*Notes about full service:

1. Does not include the price of the Taqman Assays. Price for each assay is around $275 and good for 700 to 1,000 samples. We order directly from Applied Biosystems.
2. For small projects there is a minimum charge of $50.
